Based on the radio series of the same name, Gang Busters is an episodic documentary-style tale of criminals brought to justice. Veteran screen baddie Myron Healey plays John Omar Pinson, a real-life criminal once rated Public Enemy #4. The film recounts the many prison breaks staged by Pinson, all of which resulted in his recapture.

Written by former crime reporter Martin Mooney, the story focuses on the efforts by an undercover agent Bob Elliot (John Archer) to get the goods on mobster Mickey Roma (Jack LaRue). The key to Elliot's investigation is gorgeous ex-convict Rita Adams (Joan Woodbury), who hopes to get even with Harold Dewitt (Philip Trent), the cad responsible for her incarceration.

Johnnie, a prizefighter, is unwittingly involved in a murder, and, unable to prove his innocence, quits boxing and flees to a ranch in Arizona, run by an old lady as a work farm for delinquent teenagers. He falls in love with Peggy and became the teenagers' hero. But a New York Detective is still on the hunt for the fleeing boxer.

The Chase
Adapted from Cornell Woolrich's The Black Path of Fear, Robert Cummings stars as Chuck Scott, a shell-shocked ex-GI who is hired as a chauffeur for racketeer Eddie Roman (Steve Cochran). Scott is persuaded by Roman's wife, Lorna, to help her escape the brutish Roman, only to end up accused of a murder he didn't commit.
